The steering gear is now nearly finished. Incoming axle and the front steering clutch are fitted as well as the front brake band. The steering gear is raised into vertical position just to ease assembling, considering that every detail weigh its brave pounds.
Though the steering gear is to be exhibited in the museum, we have painted the frame, ie the parts that do not rotate, in gray while all moving parts are only primed. Then it will be easier to understand their function.
Now the steering clutch on the right hand side is mounted on the steering gear.
Now both steering clutches are assembled and all the parts to the steering gear are primed. Now the steering gear housing must be painted and then it’s ready for reassembly. It goes forward!
Now the engine is to be finished. We needed new con rod bolts and with the help of Scania, we received a set. They are now mounted and fixed.
We need to replace all bolts in the tracks and therefore we need to disassemble them. One track, consisting of 75 plates, is now waiting for new bolts.
