Now the final drive is prepared for installation.
It is the first major component to be remounted on the chassis.
Now we begin to assemble the cart. The tensioner for the tracks is in place, so is the front part of the belt.
The next step will be to set up the final drive and put it in place. Half the final drive is cleaned. Now only painting remains before we can assemble it.
Soon the engine is ready to start up. What needs to be done is to mount the fuel pipes and the radiator and to refill the oil. Knowing that we soon are going to hear the sound of the engine running, is worth all the hours of work we have put into this project.
We have gained a new sandblast cabin which in every way is better than our old one. It is much faster to blast with it and it has a much more effective dust filter.
Now the frame is back in the workshop with its right side up. All the bogie boxes are mounted so now, the rest of the track arrangement assembly is in place.
Now we have turned the chassi right side up and can start with the driveline.
The bogie boxes except one are now in place in the frame, there are only some screws missing. When they are in place, it is time to turn the frame with the right side up. Thereafter, the final drives will be prepared and mounted.
All the bogie boxes are cleaned, painted and greased. Now we are waiting for new bolts and then they are ready to be assembled in the cartridge.
Uner the engine there is an opening, in the hull, so the engine oil can be drained. The cover to the hole is missing so we have make a new one.
The body has come back now after blasting and painting.
All the old paint is gone and then things showed up that we had not seen before. The cart must have been damaged earlier because under the left door there is a huge crack. It has been repaired with a large piece of metal inside the body.
The last 4 bogie boxes are cleaned from loose rust. Now painting and mounting are what is remaning.
